That one guy at the diner swore the moon landing was filmed in a Nebraska cornfield
Two months ago I got into it with a retired mechanic named Gary at Lou's Diner in Des Moines. He kept claiming NASA used a 12 acre corn maze as a green screen, and when I asked how they hid the shadows, he said the lighting crew just used 50 giant mirrors. I pulled up a NASA transcript on my phone showing the antenna signals took 1.3 seconds to bounce back, but he said the mirrors were on a delay too. He ended it by saying 'you just don't want to admit they hired farmers as actors.' I've debated flat earthers online, but Gary's confidence with zero evidence still sticks with me. Does anyone else run into people who treat random local anecdotes as harder proof than actual mission data? Has anyone here ever changed a mind in person, or is it always a dead end?
