My mother lost $340 to a dating app match that sent the same good morning text for 11 days
She showed me the chat because something felt off, and I kid you not, the guy's messages were almost word for word the same every day. Same greeting, same compliments, same questions about her day, just tiny word swaps here and there. She had already sent him $340 through a gift card after he claimed his card got frozen while traveling for work. I ran the messages through a free AI text checker and it flagged the whole thread as likely machine written. My brother thinks I'm overreacting and says some people just text in a routine, but 11 days of near copies is not a routine. Where do you all draw the line between a boring texter and a bot, is there a message count or pattern that gives it away for you?
