Serious question, is the 10k subscriber mark really that big of a deal?

I hit 10,000 YouTube subscribers last month after posting a short documentary about a local bakery, and honestly, my client work hasn't changed at all. Everyone says it's a huge milestone for getting brand deals, but I haven't seen a single good offer come through. Has anyone else found that subscriber count doesn't really translate to better freelance jobs?

When my ex and I first split, I was sure I needed a lawyer for everything. I booked a one hour meeting with a family law attorney in my town, which cost me $500. She basically said our case was so simple (no kids, no house) that we could file the papers ourselves for under $300. I felt so dumb for not checking that first. Has anyone else had a lawyer give them advice that basically saved them money by telling them to go away? What did you do next?

Tried a 0.02mm stepdown on a 6061 part and it just... didn't work.

I was trying to get a super fine finish on a small aluminum bracket, so I dialed the stepdown way down and ran it at 12k RPM. The finish looked great for the first inch, then the whole thing just started chattering like crazy and left a nasty pattern. I think the tool was rubbing more than cutting at that point. Anyone have a better approach for a mirror finish on 6061 without a ballnose?

They were nice about it, but said the crumb was perfect and the crust ruined it. I realized I'd been blasting my oven at 500 degrees the whole time instead of dropping it after 10 minutes. Now I start at 475 and drop to 450 after the steam phase, and it's way better. Anyone else have a specific temp adjustment that fixed a texture problem?

I was at a small con in Portland, really excited about a mint copy of a Spider-Man issue I'd just bought.
