Just realized I was wrong about talking to my plants
My aunt, who has a greenhouse in Tucson, told me she doesn't talk to hers at all. She said, 'The air movement from the fan is what they actually like.' It made me rethink my whole routine. Anyone have a specific fan they use for seedlings?

Your aunt is onto something there. It's funny how we attach human stuff to plants when they just need basic physics. I see this all the time with pets too, like buying fancy beds when they really just want a cardboard box. The fan thing makes total sense, mimicking a breeze. I just use a cheap oscillating fan from a big box store on a low setting. Works fine and keeps the stems from getting weak.

Yeah the "fancy beds vs cardboard box" thing is so true, my cat ignores everything expensive.

Totally, it reminds me of when my mom would talk to her houseplants. She swore they grew better with conversation, but my dad always said it was just the carbon dioxide from her breathing on them. I tried the fan trick with some leggy tomato starts last year and it was a game changer, they stopped flopping over completely. Makes you wonder how much plant care is just solving simple problems we made complicated.
