My monstera dropped 4 leaves after I moved it to a west window in Phoenix
I figured more sun meant a happier plant, but 10 days later I was picking up yellow leaves off the floor. Swapped it back to the east side with a sheer curtain and new growth showed up in 3 weeks, so light really does matter more than I thought. Anyone else had a plant throw a fit over a window change?
Man, I did the same thing with my fiddle leaf fig, moved it right up against a south window thinking it would love the extra rays, and it dropped half its leaves in like a week. Turns out that glass turns into a magnifying glass in the afternoon and basically cooks whatever is behind it. Moved it back a few feet and it finally settled down, so yeah, these plants are picky about more than just how much sun they get.
