Vent: my fiddle leaf fig dropped 9 leaves in a week after I moved it 4 feet
I always figured leaf drop was about watering, so I kept tweaking my schedule and nothing helped. Then a guy at my local nursery in Austin told me ficus trees throw a fit over light angle changes, not just light amount, and a 4 foot shift can be enough to shock them. I measured it with a cheap light meter and the spot I moved it to was getting about 40% less indirect light in the afternoon. Put it back near the original corner and it stopped dropping leaves within 8 days. Has anyone else had a plant freak out over a small move like that, or is my tree just dramatic?
