My $19 coffee maker outlived the $180 one by 14 months and I want to know why
I bought a cheap drip coffee maker at a hardware store in Bakersfield for $19 back in 2022, mostly as a backup, and it is still brewing fine today while the fancy one I replaced it with died after 14 months. The pricey one started leaking from the bottom seal and the carafe chipped on the second drop, and when I opened it up the inside was mostly plastic clips that had gone brittle. Is there a repair worth trying on the leak, or should I just keep using the cheap one until it quits too?
