inJust realized I was overpainting my backgrounds for years
Yeah I had a friend who spent a year obsessing over a single shadow in a painting and then just gave up and threw some black paint on it and it looked fine. Sometimes the fix is just deciding you're done.

inSpent 4 hours chasing a ghost in a Cessna 172 fuel system yesterday
Wait, a fleck of rust was the whole problem? That's wild. Something that tiny can make a whole engine run rough for weeks. Guess that's why the good mechanics always start with the cheap and easy stuff first.

inThe time a viewer spotted my editing mistake in a recipe video
Oh PLEASE. A tiny editing glitch like that is NOT "ruining" your video. You're being DRAMATIC. Most viewers wouldn't even notice if you didn't point it out in the comments. I actually think it makes you look MORE human and relatable when there's a small mistake like that. Perfectly polished content feels fake and corporate. Plus now nobody can accuse you of using too much salt since they saw it twice, right?

inUnpopular opinion: 2FA via SMS is better than nothing for most people
SMS is worse than nothing when someone clones your SIM and drains your account while you sleep. Those authenticator apps might be annoying but at least they aren't sitting in plain text on a carrier's server waiting to be stolen. Sure losing a phone is rough but getting hacked is a whole different level of disaster that texts can't protect you from.

inFinally got my boom angle indicator calibrated right after 6 months of guessing
That first perfect swing without the pucker factor is such a game changer... you don't realize how much tension you were carrying until it's just gone. Tight around pipe racks especially, one bad guess and you're looking at a really bad day with the client. Glad you got it sorted, those load indicators pay for themselves in sleep alone honestly.
