That Reno returns guy is part of a whole species of store workers who have zero patience for people abusing the system. Same energy as the cashier who counts your items in the 10 items or less line, or the librarian who knows you did not read that book in two days. Honestly it is weirdly refreshing when someone just skips the fake politeness and tells you the truth.
