Spotted a rack of $6 replacement blades at Harbor Freight that saved my buddy's $150 miter saw
Was killing time in the Harbor Freight on Highway 99 in Modesto and noticed a whole peg of generic 10 inch miter saw blades sitting next to the name brand ones. My buddy's DeWalt blade was toast after he chewed through some wet 2x4s, and he was about to drop $60 on a new one. Grabbed the $6 cheapo just to test it, and honestly it cut through 40 feet of pine trim without wandering or burning. Anyone else had luck with the bargain blades, or did I just get a good batch?
Got to call this out because I don't buy the 40 feet of pine trim with zero burning (ok maybe pine is soft, but still). You are telling me a 6 dollar blade outlasted the job that killed a 60 dollar name brand one? That math is wild to me. I have burned through cheap blades on one deck board before, so either Harbor Freight stepped up their game or you got the one lucky blade in the whole bin. Forty feet without wandering is the part that really gets me, because cheap blades usually start drifting the second they warm up.
