Update: Bought a $19 heat gun at Harbor Freight to fix my peeling desk, expected junk
My desk veneer started lifting along the front edge after about 8 months, so I grabbed the cheap heat gun figuring it would die on the first job. It has now survived re-gluing that edge, shrinking some heat wrap, and loosening 3 stuck bolts on my bike rack here in Tucson. The sticker on the cord says 1500 watts and the thing gets hot fast, so you have to keep it moving or you scorch the wood. I am honestly surprised it is still running after all that for 19 bucks. Has anyone here used a cheap heat gun long term, and does it hold up past a few months?
