inHad to choose between a gas stove and induction when I redid my kitchen last fall
Do you find the touch controls frustrating when your hands are even slightly wet? I was so used to physical knobs that first week I kept accidentally turning my pans to max trying to wipe a spill.

inUsed to think expensive sleeping pads were a waste...
OH MAN this hits SO hard. What nobody talks about is how bad gear can actually make you WORSE at camping over time because you stop being able to read the land and your own body. I spent years with this lumpy inflatable pad that leaked air every night and I got so used to waking up cold and sore that I stopped paying attention to where I was setting up. I'd just throw my tent anywhere because discomfort was already guaranteed anyway. Then when I finally got a decent pad I realized I'd been missing all these subtle cues about terrain and weather patterns cause my sleep was so garbage. Bad equipment doesnt just hurt your body, it dulls your instincts too.

inSpent $400 on a walk-in tub for my mom... totally worth it
Wait, you really think modern heaters can keep up with those things? You just changed my mind honestly.

inFinally tried waxing my chain instead of wet lube. Never going back.
Makes way more sense for wet conditions, wax just washes right off if you ride in rain.

inMy first boss in Spokane said to always mix mud with cold water
Hold on now, I gotta push back on that 220 grit thing. In my experience spending extra time with the finer grit is never a waste if you want a really smooth finish that feels like glass. I've tried skimping down to 180 on some oak and pine projects and ended up with visible scratch marks that showed right through the stain. Those old timers might not have had the science to explain it but they knew that more prep work saves you from having to strip and redo the whole thing later. So tell me, have you actually gone back to check your 180 grit jobs after six months to see if the finish still looks as good?
