Debate: Do you let the algorithm feed you or do you fight it with specific searches?

So I was scrolling last night and realized I have two completely different modes. Mode one is just letting the app serve me whatever weird stuff it thinks I want. Mode two is where I type in exactly what I'm looking for and ignore everything else. With mode one I end up watching some guy deep frying butter sticks for 45 minutes but I also found a hilarious series about a fake exterminator that had me cracking up. With mode two I get exactly what I wanted but I miss all the weird random stuff. Which side do you guys fall on? Does the brain rot hit harder when you surrender or when you stay in control?

Mode one always. Let the chaos algorithm do its thing.

Question whether it really matters that much in the end. Maybe it's just personal preference and not some big deal.
