My sister said my 'brain rot' reaction videos were just me laughing at nothing, so I started taking notes
About 5 months ago my sister walked in while I was watching one of those 45 minute compilations of people pointing at random stuff and going 'what is that.' She sat down for like 2 minutes and said, 'you're not even watching the video, you're just watching a person watch the video.' That kind of stung because she was right. I used to just scroll and laugh at the weirdness but I could never tell anyone what actually happened in any of them. So I started keeping a little notes file, just one line per trend, what the gimmick is, why it hooks people, where it came from if I can find it. Now when my coworker at the tire place asks me about some trend his kid is into, I can actually explain it in 20 seconds instead of going 'uhh it's like a guy and a sound.' My notes file has 62 entries now and the weird part is I watch way less of it than before. Anyone else here started keeping track of this stuff or am I being too serious about garbage videos?
