Went to a diner and saw three teens filming each other eating pancakes

Stopped at the 24-hour diner on Route 9 last Tuesday for a late coffee and watched a group of kids spend 20 minutes setting up a shot of syrup being poured, then film themselves taking one bite each. Nobody actually ate the pancakes. Has anyone else noticed these food challenge videos are less about eating and more about the production now?
