I laid a brick edge around my flower beds and frost moved it all over. How do you keep bricks in place when it freezes and thaws?

Oh, I had the same problem with my patio border! What fixed it for me was putting down a few inches of crushed gravel as a base before the bricks. The gravel doesn't hold water, so there's less freeze-thaw action to push things around. I just used a hand tamper to compact it really well, and those bricks haven't budged in two seasons now.
