Serious question, my dried bean habit saves me a ton each month

I hear a lot of folks say canned beans are the only cheap option. They argue it saves time. But I learned to cook dried beans from scratch. Soak them overnight. Simmer them for an hour. My grocery costs went down big. The texture is better, not mushy. I also skip the extra salt. This simple skill made my meals both cheap and tasty.

How do you even find the time to soak them with a packed schedule? I get the canned bean argument for busy weeks, but once you make a big batch on your day off and freeze portions, it's a total game changer. You're right about controlling the salt too, my energy is way more steady without all that sodium.

My freezer has two bags of pinto beans right now. I made them last month and just thaw what I need. Makes dinner so much easier.

Tbh, what's your go-to way to season them without canned sauce?

Honestly, yes. The texture is way better and the price difference is wild. A bag of dried beans costs me like a dollar fifty and makes so many meals. Tbh it feels like a secret life hack everyone ignores.
