Just realized my $9 hostel in Medellin cost less per night than my airport lunch
I stayed at a hostel in Medellin for 5 nights back in March and paid about $9 a night. My burger and beer at the airport on the way home came to $14 for one meal. What is the dumbest thing you have spent more on than a whole night of lodging?

That $14 airport burger is nothing. I once paid $22 for a cocktail at a rooftop bar in Bangkok, and my guesthouse that night was $11 with AC and free toast. The drink was mostly ice and I was done with it in ten minutes. At least your hostel gave you a bed for eight hours.
