I finally stopped fighting my bujo layouts and just drew a plain grid, and it fixed my whole week
My friend Dana, who has kept a journal for 9 years, told me to quit forcing fancy layouts and just draw one simple grid per page. I ignored her for 3 months because I wanted my weekly spreads to look like the ones on Pinterest. Then I hit a week where I missed 4 appointments and forgot to pay the water bill, so I gave her way a shot. I made a 6 by 4 grid for the days and wrote tasks in the boxes with a basic pen, nothing else. Setting it up took me 2 minutes instead of the 40 I was burning on banners and washi tape. Now I actually open the thing every morning, which was the entire point. Does anyone here use a plain grid, or am I just slow for not trying it sooner?
Gotta disagree with you on this one. A grid keeps things clean and easy to scan, banners just end up looking like a cluttered mess half the time. Different strokes I guess but I'll take the grid any day.
