I always figured a handshake and a deposit were enough for anything under five grand, but when that Reno client claimed the deck railing was never part of the deal and threatened to take me to small claims, my lawyer buddy pointed out one signed scope page would have ended it in five minutes, so now I'm curious how many of you actually put small jobs in writing.
