That 'boilerplate NDA' everyone loves nearly cost me a client in Jersey City
I had a week last month where I copied a standard NDA template off a legal blog, sent it over, and the other party's counsel came back with 14 redlines because one clause about non-solicits was too broad for their state. Everyone online swears templates are fine, but my experience says spending $350 on a local attorney to tweak one paragraph saved the whole deal. Has anyone else had a template backfire like that, or am I just unlucky?
