Rant: spent $900 on a couch I sat on for 20 minutes at a store in Portland and hated it by month 3
Bought a sectional at a store off Powell Blvd back in January because it looked great under their showroom lights and the guy knocked $150 off if I took the floor model. Got it home and within a couple months the cushions were flat where I always sit and the fabric pilled up everywhere. Turns out that store has a 15% restocking fee and you only get 7 days to return, which nobody mentioned when I was signing the paperwork. I sold it on Craigslist for $300 and ate the loss, which stung since that was almost two full paychecks for me. Now I bring a tape measure and sit on stuff for at least 30 minutes before I buy anything. Anyone got a couch brand that actually holds up past year two? I'm not making that mistake twice.
