Shoutout to my neighbor Dave for saving me $340 on a lawn mower I didn't need
So I had a cordless mower sitting in my cart at the hardware store on Saturday, $340, and I was two clicks from paying when my neighbor Dave wandered over to the fence. He asked what I was doing and I told him my old push mower was dying, and he just goes 'how big is your yard, Mark?' I said about 900 square feet, and he laughed and said his yard is the same size and he's been using the same $25 reel mower from a garage sale in Dayton for 11 years. He even let me try it on his lawn right then, and honestly it took me 12 minutes to cut his whole front yard with zero noise and zero gas. I walked back inside and emptied my cart, then found a used reel mower on a local swap page for $30 that afternoon. My back is a little sore from pushing it but my wallet feels great. Anyone else had a neighbor talk them out of a big buy at the last second?
