Found a trick for blending seams on stretch fabric

Tissue paper trick" sounds like a life hack from a sewing wizard who ran out of actual wizardry.

Just crossed 100 engine swaps in my home garage, never thought I'd get there

Oh man, that's awesome... I had a buddy who hit 50 VW Beetle engine pulls in his backyard before he even realized it. He was just swapping them out for friends and neighbors, never kept a log until his wife made him count for a bet. @richarddixon I get your point about the 6 hour thing, but some guys really do get that fast with repetition, especially on common platforms like a Honda. My buddy said his first Beetle took him almost two whole weekends, but by the end he could have one out and another in before lunch on a Saturday.

Changed my mind about those 'pay with cash for a discount' fast food deals

That's rough, hope they actually follow through with it.

Still using paper takeoffs in 2025...

Man I felt this in my soul lol. I remember my first time using digital takeoff software I was so paranoid I was gonna mess something up I double checked everything by hand anyway. Ended up taking just as long but with the added bonus of a headache.

That job in Tucson with the old cloth wiring really changed my mind about rewiring whole houses.

Exactly, it's gotten out of hand. The fear of liability has everyone on autopilot just quoting full replacements. Good on you for actually doing the legwork and checking the condition. That old cloth wire can be perfectly fine if it hasn't been cooked in an attic or messed with. You saved that homeowner a ton of money for no good reason. More people need to use their eyes and their brains instead of just following a script.
