My old boss in Cincinnati said to never glue up a face frame before checking the diagonals, and half the guys in my shop still skip it
Last Tuesday we had a 42 inch wide face frame come back with a 3/16 inch gap at the top corner because the guy who built it just ran pocket screws and never checked corner to corner. Honestly I get both sides, checking adds a few minutes and most frames pull square on their own, but I have seen too many come back twisted to trust luck. So do you all measure diagonals on every frame or only when it feels off?
