Was using the wrong compression fittings for 2 years
Finally figured out why my RG6 crimps kept failing on outdoor runs. A senior guy at the supply house in Denver showed me I was using the standard compression fittings instead of the weather sealed ones. The little rubber gasket at the base was the giveaway. That was the whole reason for signal loss every time it rained. Anyone else get stuck using the wrong hardware for way too long?

My buddy used garden hose fittings on his sprinkler system for three summers before he figured it out.

Three summers... that's rough, bet his water bill was insane.
