inI regret spending $600 on a heated floor system for my small bathroom
Wait hold on, your buddy who does tile is giving heating advice? @jenny198 I can't believe he thinks a timer plug and a switch would actually work for a heated floor, that's wild.

inWent through a shutter curtain repair on an old F2 and realized how much simpler things were before circuit boards.
Three times I've opened up my F3 only to realize I forgot which screw goes where, and every time I end up with an extra spring I can't identify. I mean sure, a circuit board failure probably means a whole new part, but at least you don't end up with a pile of tiny metal bits that look like they belong in a watch. Maybe it's just me but there's something weirdly satisfying about fixing something with a screwdriver and some swearing instead of a soldering iron.

inJust learned that dandelions aren't actually weeds
Right @stella_scott96, I call dandelions "lawn dinosaurs" and my neighbors think I'm nuts.

inUsed to think gutter guards were a scam, but after last fall I'm sold
Honestly I was skeptical too. Figured it was just another gadget that sounds good but doesn't actually save much time. But hearing stuff like that from multiple people makes me think I was wrong about it.

inHit 15 different shed configurations before I found one that worked for my yard
You're off on the math there. A lean-to against a garage wall probably saves you from building three walls instead of four, which cuts material cost, but it doesn't automatically give you 40% more space for half the cost unless you were building a way smaller shed before. The real win with a lean-to on a slope is you can let the roof follow the grade without needing to dig out a level pad or pour an expensive foundation. I found that out the hard way after my third attempt, so I feel your pain on all those failed sketches. Did you have to pour new footings for the lean-to or did you use gravel and blocks?
