Warning: The way people treat old film cameras has flipped in the last 5 years
Honestly, I used to get maybe one or two film bodies a month for cleaning and light seals, mostly from older folks. Now, I get at least five a week, and half are from people under 30 who bought them online. The big change was about 3 years ago when film got trendy again on social media. They all want these old Pentax K1000s or Canon AE-1s working, but they don't know the first thing about loading them. Has anyone else had to start giving basic 'how to use this' lessons along with the repair?

Totally, I've been showing people how to thread film onto the take-up spool for the last two years. It's wild, I had a kid last week who didn't know you had to advance the lever after each shot. What basic thing surprised you the most?

Honestly, the fact people don't know you have to manually rewind the film before opening the back. How do they think the pictures get out?
