Bought a $12 tarp stake kit, now I swear by the orange ones

I used to think all tent stakes were the same, so I kept snapping cheap ones in rocky ground around Moab for 3 trips. Then I grabbed a random 8-pack of orange aluminum stakes at a gas station and they bent back into shape after a windstorm last month. Has anyone else found a specific stake type that just works way better than what you started with?
