Bought a $16 headlamp at a gas station in Bend and it died before I finished setting up camp
I was driving into Deschutes National Forest last month and realized I left my good light at home, so I grabbed a cheap one at a gas station in Bend. It flickered for maybe 20 minutes, then went dead in the middle of pitching my tent in the dark. I ended up using my phone flashlight and burning 40% of my battery on night one. Anyone have a budget headlamp that actually survives a full weekend, or do I just need to stop forgetting my good one?

Burned through a cheap one at Smith Rock last spring, same exact deal, flickered for like 15 minutes then just quit on me halfway through dinner. Ended up eating cold beans by phone light while my buddy laughed at me from his tent. Now I keep a $20 Black Diamond in my glovebox at all times so I never get stuck like that again.
