My $200 camp stove died on night 2 at Cold Springs and I cooked beans on a fire pit like a caveman
Brought a Jetboil Genesis to Cold Springs Campground near Bend over Memorial Day and the igniter crapped out on the second morning, so no coffee and no hot food unless I wanted to sit there clicking a dead button 40 times. I ended up digging out a fire ring, stealing coals from the neighbors two sites over, and boiling water in a beat up pot for 45 minutes while my hands went numb. For $200 I expect more than 3 working meals, and the customer service line just told me to clean the electrode, which I already did twice. Anyone got a stove that actually survives a long weekend in the cold, or am I expecting too much from these things?
