Saw a $90 tent at the REI garage sale in Boise that had a rainfly held together with duct tape, and the tag said 'like new'
I was digging through the returns bin at the Boise REI garage sale two weekends ago and pulled out a Marmot 2P tent with the rainfly patched using duct tape and about six inches of seam sealer slopped on one corner. The return tag said 'like new, minor wear' which is just not true, and a store worker nearby shrugged when I pointed it out, so clearly nobody is checking these before they hit the floor. Has anyone else bought a garage sale tent that was way worse than the tag claimed, and did the store ever make it right?

Guessing most of these tags get written from a quick glance, not an actual check.
