Took Me 3 Weekend Trips to Admit My $30 Stove Was the Problem, Not My Fire Starting Skills
I kept blaming wet wood and bad tinder for my campfire struggles every trip for about 2 months. Then a guy at the campsite in Flagstaff watched me fight with my stove for 20 minutes and just said 'your fuel line is clogged.' I soaked it in vinegar for an hour and it worked fine. So is it worth carrying a backup stove or just cleaning your gear more often? I still can't decide if I'm lazy or just cheap.
