Dropped $280 on a Cameo from a guy who got canceled in 2021, and now I feel weird about it
So my buddy turned 40 last week and I thought it would be funny to get him a Cameo from this fitness guy who got dragged back in 2021 for some dumb comments. I paid $280 for it, which felt steep but whatever, milestone birthday. The video showed up in like 36 hours and honestly? It was good. He said my buddy's name right, referenced the inside joke I put in the request, and it ran almost 3 minutes. Here's the thing though, I didn't tell my buddy the guy was canceled and now I'm sitting here wondering if I should even bring it up. My wife says nobody cares anymore and I'm overthinking it, but I keep going back and forth on whether giving him money was a bad move. It saved me because I had zero gift ideas and it burned me because now I feel like I have to explain myself. Has anyone else paid for something from a canceled person and actually felt fine about it after?
