I want to push back on the idea that every canceled person deserves a second shot just because they came back quiet. Back in January I paid $149 for a 12 week plan from a fitness guy who got dropped by two big brands in 2021 after some ugly comments he made. He went away for about a year, then last fall he started posting again with no apology and a new paywall. I figured maybe he cleaned up his act, so I bought the plan. What showed up was a 40 page PDF and 18 videos that were almost word for word stuff he posted on his free channel in 2019. I checked side by side, same warmup, same three lifts, same meal advice. I emailed twice and got no answer, then saw 60 or so people in his comments saying the same thing. I am not saying the guy can never work again, but quiet comebacks should not mean a reset on trust when nothing changed. Has anyone here bought something like this and gotten a refund, or is that money just gone?
As someone who once paid 200 bucks for an online course that turned out to be a guy reading his own blog posts out loud, I feel your pain in my soul. But here is the part that really gets me: the quiet comeback with a paywall and zero apology. That is not a fresh start, that is a rebrand. You can forgive someone and still not hand them your wallet, those are two different things. The side by side check you did is smart because it proves he was not even trying to give buyers anything new. For the refund, if you paid by card or PayPal, file a dispute for goods not as described, and do it soon because the clock runs out. Also screenshot those 60 comments now before he scrubs them, because that is your best backup if you go the chargeback route.
