A recruiter at a Denver job fair told me to cut my resume from 2 pages to 1, and it worked in 3 weeks
I went to a job fair in Denver back in March with a 2 page resume that listed every job I have had since 2011. A recruiter there (she worked for a staffing agency, not one of the booths) looked at it for about 10 seconds and said the second page was doing me no favors. She told me to cut anything older than 5 years unless it matched the job description exactly. I rewrote the whole thing down to 1 page that night, dropped my high school stuff and an old retail job from 2012. Within 3 weeks I got 4 callbacks, which was more than I had gotten in the 2 months before. Now I am wondering if I should have trimmed even more. Has anyone else had a recruiter give them one small tip that actually moved the needle?

Two years back I thought two pages showed grit, but her five year rule got me three interviews in Denver.
