Overheard my neighbor bragging about using 'password123' for everything

Switched to a password manager that same week. Best decision ever.

Went to an IKEA kitchen display and almost lost it over the soft-close hinges

Went through this exact same thing last month at the one in Paramus lol. I used to think those soft close hinges were a game changer, figured they made cheap cabinets feel premium. But then I actually looked at how they're installed on the display models and yeah, the screws were already stripped out and the alignment was off. Totally changed my mind about the whole setup. That whole system relies on the hinge holding tight and if the particleboard gives out you're basically screwed. No pun intended.

Had to pick between a cheap spiral notebook and a $38 Leuchtturm1917 for my first bujo...

Wow, THREE pages of ghosting? That's ridiculous. I'd lose my mind if I couldn't read my own grocery list from a week ago. @tessap73 I feel for you with the scrap paper thing, that's some serious dedication. I went with a medium priced notebook after my first disaster, and even then I had to switch to finer pens just to make it work. But honestly, the bleeding through thing messes up the whole point of a bullet journal - you're supposed to be able to look back at your spreads without a decoder ring.

PSA: The 2024 election poll I tracked had a 6 point swing that nobody caught

All major polls were basically the same" - man, I used to think that too. I figured pollsters just call people and write down answers, not realizing they're back there doing algebra with age brackets and response rates. Now I just assume every new poll that comes out is secretly lying to me in a slightly different way.

Vent: My attic insulation went bad in 2 years flat

Used to think blown-in was a simple enough job, but stories like this changed my mind quick. Air sealing is the part I'd pay extra attention to now, no question.
