I thought the $40 LinkedIn profile review was a scam, then the guy sent me 3 pages of notes on my own resume
I signed up for one of those $40 "profile teardown" services back in March after getting ignored by about 60 job apps in a row. I figured it was a bot spitting out a template, but the guy sent back 3 pages with actual line edits and even flagged that my "managed projects" bullet had no numbers in it. Turns out my whole resume read like a job description instead of results, and I had a typo in my own job title on page one. Two interviews came in the next month after I fixed the stuff he called out. Does anyone know a cheap way to get the same kind of honest look at a cover letter?
A 3 page teardown with line edits for $40 is wild, I read a comment thread where someone said those cheap reviews are hit or miss but the good ones catch stuff like your "managed projects" bullet having no numbers. For cover letters you could try a local career center or a subreddit where people swap reviews for free. Way cheaper than another $40 shot in the dark.
