Just hit 200 job applications this month and actually got a callback

I've been sending out resumes like crazy since January after my old company shut down. This week I cracked 200 applications total and finally got a real interview lined up for Friday. It's a marketing coordinator gig at a local firm in Denver that I applied to back in February. I honestly thought I'd be stuck in the spam folder forever. Has anyone else had to send out that many before landing something solid?

Man that's brutal. Two hundred applications is a lot of time and hope just getting ignored. I've been there back when I was switching careers and it wears you down fast. Good for you for sticking with it, most people would have quit after fifty. That marketing coordinator spot sounds promising, especially since they actually remembered your application from February. Denver's market is tough right now, I hear a lot of people struggling to get in the door. Hope Friday goes well for you.

Had a buddy go through something similar last year. He was at about 150 applications before one tiny company finally called him back. They told him they almost deleted his resume but saw he had applied months ago and that stuck with them. Funny how that works sometimes.

That part about them almost deleting his resume but then noticing he applied months ago is interesting. What's the longest gap you've heard of between an application and a callback actually working out?
