Just realized my cheap combination square was lying to me for years
I always thought a $12 square from the hardware store was good enough, but after checking it against a machinist square at a buddy's shop in Dayton, the blade was off by a full 1/16 over 12 inches. Explains why my door jambs kept coming out slightly twisted no matter how careful I was. Anyone else found a hidden accuracy problem in a basic tool after upgrading to something better?
