Saw a custom barn build in Ohio that made me question my whole framing setup

Drove past a job site near Dayton last Tuesday, guy was putting up a 40x60 barn with nothing but a circular saw and a chalk line. No table saw, no track saw, not even a miter station. He had this plywood jig clamped to sawhorses and was ripping 2x6s straight off the stack. I pulled over and talked to him for 20 minutes. He said he's been building that way for 18 seasons and can frame a wall section in under 2 hours. Meanwhile I got $4k in tools in my trailer and I still take 3 hours just to set up. Makes me think I'm overcomplicating the whole thing. Has anyone else gone back to basics like that and seen their speed actually improve?
