Serious question, I dropped $400 on a cordless track saw last year and it's been a game changer for breaking down sheet goods on site.

I used to think that too until I tried one.

Found myself cutting a lot of melamine for built-ins last year. The clean, chip-free cuts alone saved me hours of sanding and edge banding fixes. For that specific job, it paid for itself in two weekends. I still use my circular saw for framing, but the track saw lives in its case for sheet goods.

Four hundred dollars is a lot for a tool just to cut plywood. How much sheet goods are you really breaking down that a regular saw and a straight edge wouldn't work. Calling it a game changer seems like a stretch for most jobs. Do you actually use it enough to make that price worth it.
