Vent: scribing a cabinet against a 90 year old plaster wall in Omaha ate my whole Saturday
Client wanted a built-in pantry cabinet flush to a wall in a 1930s house, and the wall was wavy by almost an inch and a quarter across the 4 foot run. I figured a quick scribe would do it, so I tried a compass first, then a jigsaw, and the gap kept opening up in spots. Ended up pulling the cabinet out twice and re-cutting the filler strip before it finally sat tight, which burned about 7 hours on what I quoted as a 2 hour job. Curious what method you all use on plaster this bad, because cardboard templates felt like guesswork and I'm not sure I'd do it the same way again.
