I used to think those knee kickers with the extra padding were a gimmick

My old boss swore by them, but I figured my regular one was fine after 8 years. Then I did a whole house in Cincinnati, over 2,000 square feet of berber, and my knees were killing me by day two. I borrowed his padded one for the last bedroom and the difference was huge. Has anyone else made a switch like that and had it actually help?

My buddy Mark had knee surgery and his doctor told him to get a padded one for his daily walks. He said it made the whole recovery process way less painful. Now he won't even take the dog out without it.

Didn't a study show they reduce knee force by like half?

Yeah, you learn that lesson the hard way. It's not just about comfort, it's about how long you can actually work without your body giving out. I put it off for years too, told myself the pain was just part of the job. But after a week on a big commercial job, I finally bought one. It's not a magic fix, but it takes the edge off so you can finish the day without limping to your truck. Why make the work harder than it has to be?
