I spent about $80 on one to save cash, and the head snapped clean off on the second job, a tight hallway in a 1950s bungalow. Has anyone found a decent mid-range brand that actually holds up?

That "snapped clean off" thing is rough. My buddy had a kickback on a miter saw that sent a piece of trim flying like a missile. It put a hole straight through his garage wall drywall. We just stared at it for a minute, then went to get more spackle.

Oh man, that "snapped clean off" line gave me flashbacks. My uncle tried to save money on a floor nailer for his own bungalow project, and it jammed so bad we had to take the whole thing apart in his driveway. He was cussing for a solid hour. What did you end up doing to finish the hallway?
