That stretcher kick pattern I used for 10 years was backwards
Been doing residential rooms around Phoenix since 2014 and always kicked the stretcher from the center of the longest wall out. Last month a helper pointed out I was fighting the grain on a 12 foot wide great room, causing ripples near the baseboard on the far side. Switched to kicking from a corner diagonally across the room and the carpet laid flat in one pass instead of three. Checked the last five jobs from my phone photos and every single one had that same subtle wave I never noticed. Anyone else start from the middle wall and later realize corner starts fix their seams too?
