My nephew said cartoon characters never finish a meal, and now I keep a running tally
We were watching SpongeBob at my sister's place in Tulsa and he pointed out that a Krabby Patty gets one bite and it's gone, or the whole plate just vanishes between scenes. But here's my thing: does that logic extend to drinks too? Because Homer downs like 40 Duff beers an episode and never once has to run to the bathroom, which feels like a way bigger cheat. Are food gags just lazy writing, or is there actually a rule animators follow about how much a character can eat on screen?
