A $65 'VIP' pass at a boat show in Tampa got me 20 minutes of access
I paid $65 for the VIP early entry at the Tampa boat show a couple weeks back because they promised first crack at the dealer floor before the crowds. Turns out the early hour was just a roped-off pen with a coffee urn and one guy from a financing company, and half the boats were still covered in shrink wrap. For anyone who's been to one of these things, what's the actual move to avoid paying extra for nothing, or is the whole VIP tier just a cash grab at this point?
