A barista in Portland said sorry nine times for a wrong latte and I still think about it
I was at this little coffee shop on Alberta Street a few weeks back and the girl behind the counter handed someone a drink with regular milk instead of oat. She said sorry maybe nine times in under a minute, kept touching her neck, and offered a full refund plus a new drink before the guy even said a word. The weird part is the guy just shrugged and said it was fine, but she looked like she was reading off a script she'd practiced a hundred times. It made me realize how much of an apology is just body language doing the real talking. Has anyone else seen a sorry that felt too smooth to be real?
