My barber in Phoenix said one sentence about that celebrity split that made me rethink every tabloid I've read
I was sitting in the chair at my usual spot off Camelback Road getting a cut when my barber Marcus brought up that whole thing with the singer and the actor who split up 3 months ago. He told me his cousin works security at a hotel in Scottsdale and saw them together at brunch 2 days after People ran a story saying they were done. That hit different because I'd been eating up every headline about the breakup without asking who was actually feeding the info. Marcus said about 80 percent of what he sees in those magazines is either timed by a publicist or flat out made up. Now I look at every "source close to the couple" line and wonder who is paying for that source. Has anyone else had a regular person in their life who just happens to know the real story behind a big celeb rumor?
Did you know a guy who works at a car wash in Tempe told me he saw that same couple buying coffee like a week before the "split" news dropped? It makes you wonder how much of this stuff is just timed press runs instead of real life. My cousin used to date a guy who did valet at a hotel in LA and he said the same thing, most of those "insider" quotes come straight from someone on the payroll.
